This is a little dated, but fun news, nonetheless. Tipped off by a post to the Hounds of the Internet about a horse at Churchill Downs called Wiggins, I did a little sleuthing.

Churchill Downs Racing News had an entry on May 26, called Wiggins Sets Sights on Stephen Foster in which the Canonically named gelding was reported as winning by 2 1/2 lengths to take home $58,900. Not bad for a Baker Street Irregular.

Even more interesting: Wiggins is the sire of Cartwright. Cartwright, of course, was "the little chap from the express office" who accompanied Holmes to the moor in The Hound of the Baskervilles.

"Cartwright had come down with me," [HOUN]
