Traditionally, one of the biggest obstacles Sherlockian authors have had to overcome is the seemingly limited audience size for whom they are writing. Excellent books have been written but in many cases have been priced so high as to severely reduce the number of readers who might purchase them.

There is an excellent option available at Lulu.com. It is a self-service printing site for authors. Described on the site as:
Lulu is fast, easy and free

Publish and sell easily within minutes.
No set-up fees. No minimum order.
Keep control of the rights.
Set your own price.
Each product is printed as it is ordered.
No excess inventory.

So, to all of you amateur authors avidly awaiting an avocation - dust off that Sherlock Holmes-related publication and make it a Lulu!

This is not a "new service"--Lulu.com has been around for at least a year now, and several of my friends have published their books through them.

Lulu.com puts out a high-class product, even in their free package--it's quick, easy and free. What more could you ask?

What more could you ask??? A solid story and an editor to filter out the effluvia that seems to be the hallmark of on-demand self publishing.

There is no editing provided with the free service...it costs extra for that!
