In the blogosphere, a standard term is "meme." According to Wikipedia, a meme is "a unit of cultural information transmitted from one mind to another." In other words, it's a conversation-starter.
Adam's Blog - a non-Sherlockian blog at that - started a Sherlock Holmes meme, which I'll continue here. The idea is to either post a comment with your responses, or post your answers on your own blog, if you have one, providing a link to this post.
In Chapter 2 of A Study in Scarlet, Dr. Watson atttempts to capture the essence of his new acquaintance for the reader by creating a list that he titles "Sherlock Holmes - his limits."

Personally, this is one feature of the blog that I have no interest in reading and will be skipping any posts related to the concept. It's taking away from, not adding, to the reasons I come here.

I was slightly shocked whilst looking in the 'Holmes on Screen' section of your website to see little mention of Vasily Livanov & Vitaly Solomin. A quick google search would have brought you a vast amount of information on the excellent (and very close to canon) series that was made in the late 70s - early 80s. There were four 'films' - 'Red on White' (STUD & SPEC), 'Hound of the Baskevilles', Treasures of Agra (SIGN & SCAN), one which I don't now the title in English but was Final Problem, CAM and EMPT. and finally 'The Twentieth Century Approaches' (LAST, Engineers Thumb, Second Stain).
Considering that Vasily Livanov was given an OBE for his performance you could have spelt his name right ;-)
I enjoy the blog very much. I posted my own response to the meme:
