“I emerged with a little chocolate” [LION]

Interested in trying a Doctor Watson chocolate bar? Act fast -- Open Book Chocolates, a maker of fair trade organic craft chocolate bars with literary-inspired flavors, is crowdfunding that new flavor, but only for the next couple of days!

Why a Watson? Well, there is already a Sherlock Holmes chocolate bar... but as the creator explains,

"there is currently a global cacao butter shortage.... This is a huge challenge, because cacao butter is an important ingredient in dark, milk, and white chocolate. Of these three varieties, white chocolate uses the most cacao butter, so we are currently unable to make more Sherlock Holmes (Earl Grey Tea & Honey in White Chocolate) bars. That's why we've decided to make our brand-new Doctor Watson chocolate bar!"

So Doctor Watson is the same flavor as Holmes, tea and honey, but in the more affordable milk chocolate.

I've eaten Open Book Chocolates before, and they are quite tasty. They're based in Maryland and work with a bean-to-bar factory out of Virginia. Also part of this Kickstarter is a Maltese Falcon bar, brandy and coffee in dark chocolate (which -- heresy! -- is more to my taste than tea).

Also of interest may be The Great Gatsby (dark chocolate with mint julep), Pride and Prejudice (dark chocolate with blackcurrant and cinnamon), or if you're interested in something really unusual, The Call of Cthulhu is nori seaweed with two kinds of ginger.

Their shop is closed while the crowdfund effort runs, but you can see all their current flavors here.

The funding period ends October 1, so if you're interested, pledge now
